Arundel Municipal Library is sponsoring a series of lectures at the Arundel library at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays unless otherwise indicated.
Admission is free and refreshments will be served.

21    Local Birds    Peter Mitchell
   
    This is Peter’s second visit to the series. He will help us     identify local birds as they return this spring

28    Vegetarian Cookery    Marie-Claude Guérette

    Marie-Claude will give a talk on vegetarianism followed by a demonstration on how to make delicious vegetarian sushi.  Those attending may participate if they wish, and there will be plenty of sampling. The presentation will be at the Arundel Nature     Centre located at 90 Crystal Falls or Route 327 in Arundel. 
Presentation is limited to 15 participants and there will be a small charge.

4    Protecting our Environment      Emanuel Klaesi
    Emanuel will share with us some of his ideas about protecting our environment, especially our lakes. Note: This lecture was cancelled due to inclement weather and it will be rescheduled at a later date. Watch this page for the announcement

    Merilyn and Heather will provide information about this Association which enables one to have a funeral with dignity at an affordable cost

9    Youth Offenders and the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA)

Sonia Devin - Employed by Mesures Alternatives des Vallées du Nord (an English version of the site will appear soon) for 6 years, Sonia is a outdoor fanatic, a criminologist by training who chose, when she came to  live in the Laurentians, to work with youth- which she has done for more than 12 years. Very determinedly, using her energy and her creativity, she strives to promote the youth's actualisation within his or her community. Sonia will present the different aspects of the YCJA concerning youth and the the role which citizens of Arundel can play in working with youth.

    Those interested in family histories are invited to meet and discus some of their findings.

    Thurza talked about elder abuse during her first visit.  This time she will explain how we can protect our identities from theft.

JULY 1st  CANADA DAY 2007       
VISIT TO CAMMAC

Ray Sealey has invited us to the first of a series of concerts on July 1st CANADA DAY, on Lake Macdonald at 11.00 a.m.  If you would like to stay for brunch the total cost is $25.  Karen Young, Normand Chapelle and others will present JAZZ DU MONDE.  

After the concert and brunch Ray has offered to conduct a tour of CAMMAC, accompanied by a lecture on green architecture and technology, and for those of you who have already taken this tour, maybe you would prefer a talk on amateur music making, for which CAMMAC is famous. 

The summer music program will soon be available.  Find out about how you can participate in an experience not to be forgotten.

A large number of cassette tapes, cd-rom disk, and video tape talking books have been donated to the library and are available for your listening pleasure. Listening to a talking book while travelling is a great relief from road tedium. Try it. New titles are added from time to time. Come in to see the selection.
